CDC Director Robert R. Redfield (pictured above) has admitted that his agency had over-stated the SARS-CoV-2 mortality rate compared to the 1957-1958 flu pandemic. The agency reported that, “[T]he mortality ratio for the COVID-19 virus is similar to the mortality rate of 1957-1958 flu pandemic.” That 50’s pandemic caused 1-2 million deaths worldwide, and 77,000-116,000 in the U.S. Nevertheless, it did not lead to a shutdown of the U.S. economy with the loss of millions of jobs. |

 VANCOUVER—Federal government spending this year, which was already on track to be a new record high before the recession, is now expected to be 50.7 per cent more per Canadian than what Ottawa spent during the 2009 recession, finds a new study released today by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank.
“Prior to the economic shutdown in response to COVID-19, the federal government was planning to spend $9,306 per Canadian, the highest level ever in Canadian history,” said Jason Clemens, executive vice-president of the Fraser Institute.

TORONTO, ON: Toronto Mayor John Tory’s plan for a downtown mega-park will cost at least $3.8 billion, which is more than double the city’s most recent estimate of $1.7 billion, according to a report released today by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
“Mayor John Tory is using the oldest trick in the book: he’s downplaying the cost of a huge vanity project to get it approved, hoping the real cost won’t come out until shovels are in the ground,” said Jasmine Pickel, the CTF’s Ontario Director. “Mayor Tory is trying to stick taxpayers from across Ontario and Canada with the bill and they deserve to know that the real cost is certain to go through the roof.” |
